Payaca at the Installer Show 2023

Installer show and payaca banners

Every 12 months the UK’s largest event for installers and specifiers of heat, water, air and energy technology takes place at the NEC in Birmingham.

Once again the Payaca team made a return to the show, this time focussing on delivering high-quality demos to interested installers and heating engineers.

If you’re unfamiliar with the event, the Installer Show is a brilliant occasion where plumbers, electricians and heating engineers from all over the UK gather to discover and learn more about new products and services within the industry.

For exhibitors, it’s a fantastic opportunity to show off their products and talk to new prospects and valued customers in the industry.

For us at Payaca, we really value the opportunity to meet installers in person and show business owners and managers how they can improve their systems and grow.

At 2023’s event we took our stall up a notch, sprucing things up with four new product banners and a projector which we used to display the Payaca CRM in all its glory. On either side of the stall were our new light-up podcasting signs.

The 50-Shades-of-trade sign drew particular attention catching the eye of prospective customers and even attracting over the official Installer team who took some footage from our stand - so keep an eye out for 50-Shades on their socials. Let us know if you spot us!

One curious installer hilariously commented how disappointed he was not to see any scantily dressed ladies repping the Payaca brand under our 50-Shades neon sign. We tried to persuade our operations manager, Luke, to open an extra button but as he was quick to explain,

“We offer the best in customer service, but the kind of servicing you’re after isn’t a feature Payaca provides!”

Better luck next time, but what we lack in R-rated content we certainly make up for with our fresh youtube and social posts covering business tips and tricks for those working in the trades.

Not wanting to be outdone by the great work Luke and Matt were getting up to on the stall, Dan and Felix from the content team got out in the field to interview attendees and gather some fresh footage for Payaca’s social channels and youtube.

These included some quick-fire questions, probing plumbers for interesting and funny stories while on-site while also doing some research to find out who is familiar with CRM and job management technology.

Of course, we also had to try out some of the games and activities that could be found at many of the stalls at the show.

As a Payaca team, we decided not to go down that route this year, focussing on attracting installers who were genuinely interested in our product allowing us to offer more in-depth demonstrations in return.

However, this didn’t stop us from exploring some of the activities available when we took a break from our stall. Some of our favourites included the Game of Throne, which involved throwing balls into a toilet and a virtual golf driving game (which we sadly didn’t win).

Dan and Felix did also try a VR Formula 1 racing simulator, but although it looked fun, it also made us both quite sick - so be warned if you try it next year!

Of all the activities, a major highlight had to be Dan’s glory at the Fix Radio stall. They ran a football keepie-uppie challenge, which at the time had a high score of 373. As an avid football fan and a Wednesday league warrior, Dan was confident he could give it a go. He didn’t disappoint, smashing the score by nearly 300 reps.

The team at Fix Radio were all over it! So if you’re a listener then keep an ear out for Dan as there’s an announcement coming out on Fix radio very soon. Keep an eye on our socials too as we’ll be sharing all the behind-the-scenes footage.

Of course, the installer event wasn't all fun and games. It’s a great opportunity for us to speak to ambitious businesses, but also for you to speak to us.

At this year's 2023 event, it was really great to speak to some of our valued customers, explaining some of the latest updates and providing in-person demos and assistance for each business.

But don’t worry if you missed us!

If you’re interested in getting some in-person training you don’t need to wait until 2024 to see us. We offer in-person training you can book in at any time, just get in contact and we can arrange training for you. Check out the highlights from our session with MK Loft Boarding to get an idea of what you’ll get.

All in all, this year's Installer Show 2023 was a major success so we’ll certainly be back next year, even bigger and even better.

Stay tuned for all our latest Installer content that will be out on all our major channels very soon.
